Concert Tour of Belgium
JUNE 10 -- JUNE 24, 2023
DAY 9

JUNE 19          9:30 AM           BONJOUR.
MONDAY

After our BUFFET BREAKFAST, we will board our CHARTER COACH for our visit to ANTWERP.
The Dutch-speaking city has long been known as a center for craftspeople and artists, as well as an active trade port.
It is also
considered to be the Diamond Capital of the world – 70% of the world’s diamonds are traded here.
Explore the GROTE MARKT and see the historic Guild houses, the TOWN HALL (Stadhuis), the ornate BUTCHER’S
HALL (Vleeshuis),
the PLANTIN-MORETUS MUSEUM (see the Printing Press used to produce Gutenberg’s Bible), RUBENS” HOUSE,
MUSEUM AAN DE STROOM (MAS), the RED STAR LINE MUSEUM and the impressive ANTWERP CENTRAL STATION.
Across from the Railroad Station, stop in at the famous CHOCOLATE NATION and learn everything about Belgian chocolate
or, even better, visit CHOCOLATE LINE (one of only 3 chocolate shops listed in the Michelin Guide)  and sample some of their quirky flavors,
such as Bacon or Fried Onions or Wasabi.  Visit SINT-PAULSKERK (ST. PAUL’S CHURCH), which was built between 1517 and 1639
and is home to paintings by JORDAENS (a famous Basketball player?), van DYCK (didn’t he have a TV show with Mary Tyler Moore)
and RUBENS (love his sandwiches).  Stop in at the ONZE LIEVE VROUWKATHEDRAAL (Cathedral of Our Lady of Antwerp),
the largest Gothic Church in Belgium and SINT-JACOBSKERK (St. James Church), Antwerp’s Finest Baroque Church.

LUNCH and DINNER are on your own.  BONSOIR
